Muse
Black Box Theatre

Following on from our last Fringe TheatreFest play, 'The Ghost Of Thornwood Junction', by Jay Moore, Black Box Theatre are delighted to be back this year with a new play from Jay called, 'Muse'.

'Muse' is a play exploring the relationships between an artist, his model, his business partner and the model's boyfriend. Muse is a contemporary piece examining art and the art market and a possible role for 'the Muse' in our time. By tradition going all the way back to the Greeks, the 'Muse' - invariably female - acted as some kind of inspiration for the work of the artist - invariably male. How the 'Muse' performed this feat is something of a mystery since her role was usually passive and uninvolved in the production of the art. Could such a relationship exist today? Unlikely and certainly not to be wished for, so how might a Muse/Artist relationship play out in our time? Jay, from Black Box, considered some possibilities and 'Muse' tells the story of one of them.
