Do you get upset when you hear a tree being cut down? Do you feel overwhelmed by the sound of screeching sirens? Do you feel further away from nature than ever?
Does all of this make you feel a level of tiredness that seems to have no cure?
Rhizome Tears explores these feelings of burnout and the frustrations of what feels like late-stage capitalism. Where the systems of society such as zoom calls and concrete jungles, create varying forms of burnout due to their disconnection and/or rejection of ecology.
Lost in this world, a strange, green being, slowly guides us away from the noise and back to ourselves, to our childhood, to the land, to what we truly need. The seeds are sewn for something new to grow which allows us to feel ready to face the world again.
Rhizome Tears combines practices of live art, dramaturgy, monologues, movement and music to capture the journey of returning to a place of wellbeing.
