You might think losing your skin an impossible task. Not for a selkie. This is Maritt’s story. Maritt, the Selkie who had her skin stolen from her. Maritt, who carved a life for herself in her seven years on land. Maritt, who had to leave it all behind, and has only now found her way back.

With buoyant storytelling, a seal pup and a song or two thrown in the mix, come listen to this tale of crashing tides, stolen skins, and the struggle of a woman both seal and human.

Jess Cox is a southwest based theatre maker, with a love of the sea born from growing up on the North Devon coast. Graduating from Aberystwyth University in 2019, the start of a career in the arts has been even rockier than might reasonably be expected, so Jess is delighted to be able to take part in the festival in its full glory this year.

(Jess is also a member of Creative Playhouse, performing A Midsummer Tale in this year’s festival, so make sure to catch that too!)
