And I'll Blow Your House Down
Georgie Steele

“When our sons were given a life-changing medical diagnosis, it felt like the Big Bad Wolf had blown our house down”, says Georgie Steele, award-winning theatre maker and carer. “But as we tried to rebuild our lives, I started to wonder who or what is the Biggest Baddest Wolf? Is it our sons’ condition, or the systems that society constructs around them?”

Brighton Fringe Award winner 2023, Georgie is excited to be bringing her true-life, storytelling and physical theatre show And I’ll Blow Your House Down to Fringe Theatrefest.

Georgie’s two sons have a degenerative muscle-wasting condition. While their health is a huge concern, what’s really difficult is dealing with the institutions that are meant to support them: endless form filling; health and safety nonsense; offers of help that don’t help. It’s like living in a permanent building site!

In response to these experiences, Georgie has conjured a playful, interactive show, an invitation to us all to consider what kind of society we want to build for ourselves and our families.

Georgie also currently facilitates storytelling projects with unpaid carers in Oxfordshire, funded by NHS England and Carers Oxfordshire.
