A new live music & performance venue that opened in Spring 2023. JCT27 is a Fringe TheatreFest ticketed venue with everything from anarchic comedy to deeply affecting drama. The Golden Lion Tap is an old coaching inn that borders The Square. The management have generously made available not only the large back room as a studio/cabaret space, but also the beautifully refurbished upstairs room, variously used as a disco / karaoke / sports bar, to host a special up close up magic show. Castle Green is Barnstaple's most extensive in-town green space. In the past it has seen dance extravangzas and inventive Shakespeare productions. A contemporary art gallery has been established in what was the Cornstore and all sorts of events are programmed through the year. St Anne's Arts & Community Centre provides an adaptable 40-seat setting for innovative work. The building itself is well worth a visit, steeped, as it is, in history. The Plough Arts Centre programme St Anne's, They are key supporters of the Fringe and they have made the venue available to us. Queen Anne's Cafe has been an important part of Fringe TheatreFest over the last few years. The building dates from the early 1700s an d was a meeting place for merchants on Barnstaple Quay. This year's Fringe performance will take place in the grassed area between the cafe and the Taw. wheelchair accessible

The building was a cinema, a snooker club and a succession of nightclubs. It was empty for a while and now belongs to the Coastal Community Church who have plans to open it up for community use. Only 28 places are available for each Fringe performance. Get there early - first-come-first-served.

The Old Magistrates Court, housed in Bridge Chambers, is possibly the most beautiful hall in Barnstaple. And is rarely open to the public. There are some great shows on offer here, but the room itself also has wow factor. It will shortly undergo a major refurbishment.
