Preparing For Elizabeth

Pomegranate Theatre Company

written and performed by Penelope Wildgoose
directed by Fiona Ross

Frances Briar is back stage in her dressing room. It is opening night. She is preparing to perform the role of Elizabeth I. As make-up and costume are put on layer by layer, the Queen herself appears, and reveals, layer by layer, the woman behind the mask.

This is a play about acting. It is also a play about not acting and being true to oneself.

Pomegranate Theatre Company are committed to performing original and empowering theatre that opens the heart and honors the dignity of the human spirit.

"This piece is real. It’s not ‘about’ Elizabeth I.......This is a play about ourselves. Happening now. Thank God!" (Richard Ramsbotham - author of ‘Who Wrote Bacon’)
