Preparing For Elizabeth

As our fictional actress Frances Briars goes through her preparations for her first night performance as Elizabeth I, she finds herself becoming more and more at one with the Queen herself. A rather clever lighting change distinguishes between the actress and the Queen as Francis is possessed by the spirit of Elizabeth.

We are witness to the harsh realities of Elizabethan life portrayed in this amazingly energetic one woman show by the immensely talented actress and writer Penelope Wildgoose.

In a lucid moment Frances tells Elizabeth "if you were around today, you'd be in therapy; all that power went to your head".

This is Fringe theatre at its best, and definitely not one to miss
