Cab Ride to Ronnie’s
Christopher Hill

I am Christopher Hill. I will be graduating from Falmouth University this year after studying BA Acting for 3 years. After recently developing a short scratch piece of solo performance, I have decided to develop and expand it to reach a wider audience. My goal is to continuously develop a piece of performance which will resonate with audiences in at least some way. Whether you enjoy storytelling, movement, contemporary theatre or music, there is something in this piece for everyone!

A one-person show that centres on a London Cab Driver and his first visit to Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. The audience is invited to join him as he recounts the time of his youth in 1980s London. Through a combination of immersive story telling, physicalised performance, multi-roling, and song, the audience are taken through the streets of London. Encountering a variety of different personalities along the way, we are invited inside the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club for a special event, and a love-letter to the evolution of Jazz music, and it’s influence of other music styles over the past several decades.
